Birch trees

Birch trees fascinate me. They are different. Strong, white, wonderful.
I so enjoyed painting my own birch trees today, joyful hours passed by. I don't think while I paint. I only enjoy: the contrasting colours, the use of my palette knife, the quiet surroundings.

Thankyou God for the talent You gave me. May this painting bring joy to someone else. Acrylic paint on blocked canvas. The size:  52 x 90 cm.

"And the wind said:

May you be as strong as the oak,
yet flexible as the birch,
may you stand as tall as the redwood,
live gracefully as the willow
and may you always bear fruit, all your days
on this earth."

Painting is silent poetry

I received a WhattsApp message from an arty friend early this morning: "Painting is silent poetry." Wonderful! I love poetry, I love words, I love languages. And yes, I adore art. To admire other artist's art and to paint my own. I can do it every day and won't get tired. Never ever.

I plan to have an art exhibition in my garden. I already feel very excited about it! There are so many pieces of art which can be sold or admired. My late husband was sick the past two years and all we could think of, was how to cope with the many challenges related. It is five months after his death now and I know he would love it to see that I am still enjoying my art and trying to be as positive as possible.

To make this exhibition more attractive, I offer a few specials: "Buy one, get one free!" and "Buy one, get one half-price!" There will be something to eat and something to drink, lots of opportunities to chat with friends or just sit and relax under the huge trees in my garden. You are so welcome!

This is a short video of what can be expected. Enjoy it! I am Afrikaans speaking, but I'm sure that won't be a problem. Art is an universal language.
